“The Herbal Fingerprint Project”, an online tool designed in collaboration with the International HPTLC Association and Complementary Medicines Australia.

A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the International HPTLC Association and the Complementary Medicines Australia to initiate and implement the “The Herbal Fingerprint Project” which is designed to help the Australian Complimentary Medicines industry in Authentication and Adulteration identification.
The International HPTLC Association and the Complementary Medicines Australia (“CMA”), being the peak industry body for the complimentary medicines industry, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the collaborative development of the “The Herbal Fingerprint Project”.
Together, both groups will bring industry and research to develop a tool which is designed to help the Australian industry in it’s Authentication and Adulteration tasks.
The online tool (including bulletins) will be designed as a dynamic information hub on Herbal authentication and adulteration specific to the local industry. Using the comprehensive HPTLC fingerprinting, the project will target specific species, corresponding related species, possible adulterants in a regularly updated format.
